Leslie Adams used to be a big shot on Broadway but now at 64 years of age he was in Hollywood reduced to doing adverts but he even had trouble doing that as his memory was not as good as it used to be and he had trouble remembering lines. The rent was spiralling and he was out of money and feared having to live in the actors’ home. His nephew was Alex Kendal a director in Hollywood and Leslie hoped that he would put some work his way.
