While on the subject of statistics, here's one for you. 1970 was the last year most metropolis' in the US enjoyed a population advance. Ever since then, the amount of people in the cities has been declining. Where have they gone? Mostly to the suburbs. Here's Ralph Lester, a typical suburbanite. He moved out of New York before 1970. At the time it seemed a great idea - a garden, a house, the family, good schools. How has it worked out for him? Let's just say that Ralph Lester is tired, hates the train ride, has had a least one too many drinks, and is worried about finances. He doesn't know yet how worried he ought to be...
