The Hollywood screen Directors present a dramatic document from a time so well remembered, the academy award winning motion picture story The Best Years Of Our Lives starring Dana Andrews in his original screen role and introducing the director of the film William Wyler. Among the fiction of the story there is a deep truth of home coming service men whose most familiar memories have suddenly become strange. Most men feel the same way about war. The going off to war isn't so bad - it's the coming home which is really tough. Today's story begins with three men coming back from war, who had all hitched a ride with the same army plane. Fred Derry, an army air forces captain. Al Stevenson, infantry sergeant, and Homer Parish a sailor who had iron claws where he used to have hands. It is a story of these three veterans and their adjustment back in to society.

Based on a novel by MacKinley Kantor entitled Glory For Me.
