Beggar of Farar, The

Beggar of Farar, The

Broadcast: May 21st 1950
Added: Oct 14 2013
What could a 'worthless beggar' like Simon want with the well dressed tourists sitting arguing with his niece at the back table of The Cafe Tambourine? Surely nothing, but still Simon insists on trying to speak to him with warnings of impending danger. Minutes later the tourist lies dead in an alley and Captain Sam Sabaaya of the Cairo police believes it's an open-and-shut case of 'beggar shoots tourist for money' but could it really be that simple?
Well who would believe the story of a poor nobody like Simon who has sat begging in the street for years, who would risk their reputation and maybe even their liberty to defend him? Sam Sabaaya expects Rocky Jordan to heed his warning and keep out of this one but when faced with a simple case of right and wrong it doesn't matter to Rocky Jordan how much money a man's got... or how little.
