Captain Vincent P Kronin is on day duty. After completing his daily tasks, he walks around the block to the local jewellers, observing the Christmas shoppers along the way. He wants to say thank you to the jeweller for donating some gifts for the kids, and so shortly he enters the store. Whilst talking to the jeweller, they observe a lady shouting at the Santa Claus out on the street. He's a drunk, and is obviously soliciting funds from the kind-hearted public for himself, not for a charity.
