The Bear is a one act comedy about a widowed woman who is called upon by a creditor of her late husband. He is owed $1200 and must pay his mortgae tomorrow. She tells him that she is in no condition to give financial matters her attention and this puts him in an uproar of temper. Not to be intimidated by this man she insults him by calling him a bear to which he challeges her to a duel. As quickly as his temper rises his anger is soon replaced by an uncontollable passion for this spirited woman.
