Captain Rogers of the Texas Rangers looked up as a young stranger entered his office at the headquarters in Austin. He was Bert Ackley, Jed Ackley's son. Jed had been killed two months ago and Bert was determined to find his killers. But first he wanted something from Captain Rogers - permission to become a Texas Ranger.
