Daddy is sitting in his study reading the evening paper when Snooks comes in. She wants Daddy to read her the funnies from the paper, but he wants to read the market reports instead. He gives her some of the paper and tells her to read to herself - but this obviously means that Snooks reads aloud - since how would anyone know she was reading to herself if they couldn't hear her reading?
