The play opens in a tiny studio apartment in downtown New York owned by Stella and Vicky Hallam. Stella has just returned from the office and Vicky is somewhat annoyed because she should have remembered they were supposed to be going to his Mother’s apartment for dinner. The truth is, Stella and her Mother in law don’t hit off too well and yet she’s quite fond of her Father in law.
