When she was a little girl she had an accident, which left her face disfigured. She was lucky to survive and one day she hoped that plastic surgery would be able to improve her appearance, which is prejudicing employers from taking her on. However, Mr Colton was blind and knew what it was like to be disabled from a young age. He was impressed by her voice and personality and felt she would make a wonderful secretary. Her thoughts of plastic surgery no longer seemed important and she found herself falling in love with Mr Colton.
