Dr Watson relays the tale of Mr Edwards who became a trifle entangled with a dancer at Maxims in Paris, a young lady who was rejoicing in the appellations of froufrou. Quite a delightful little bit of fluff too! Sherlock Holmes of course discreetly settled the matter to Mr Edward’s complete satisfaction but it led Holmes and Watson in to one of the most curious and singular affairs of Holmes’s career and one which Dr Watson doesn’t believe would ever have been solve if Holmes had not been a distinguished amateur on the violin.
