Abner has finally recovered from the measles, and is no longer quarantined in the Johnson home four miles outside of town. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have returned home from their intended trip to Texas, which ended sadly at the Johnson farm. Right now, we find Lum in the store on the telephone.
