Lum and Abner lost possession of the pearl when it was taken by the court as an exhibit in the case. Now Abner is on the stand and when asked if he recognizes the pearl ha manages to gain possession of the pearl again. This time he is not letting it go claiming that possession is nine tenths of the law.
