Mr Swartz came to Chicago to set up his tie business and needed a place to live when he was recommend a rooming place at 19 Deacon Street. The landlady had only one room vacant a room that she didn’t normally rent that had belonged to a beautiful actress with long golden hair. She agreed to let Swartz have it so long as he didn’t move anything as the landlady felt that someday she would be back. He took the room but had he known then what trouble it would bring him he would have slept in the park instead.
