Mary Lane walked slowly through the orchard back toward the house. She paused and smiled as a memory from thirty years ago popped into her mind, when her husband had planted the first tree, and they had sat and talked about their future and dreams. She had tried to ensure most of those dreams had come to fruition, especially since her husband had died in the war.
