Anne, Queen of Great Britain and Ireland was born at St James Palace on 6th February 1665, and was the second daughter of James II and his first wife, Anne Hyde. In 1683, Anne married the handsome young Prince George of Denmark, and soon after appointed Sarah Churchill, wife of John Churchill, as one of her ladies in waiting.
