Randy Lane had driven to the Huntsville Sanitarium this morning for an interview with a psychiatrist who was treating Kitt Calvert for a mental illness. Learning that Kitt's incoherent thoughts centered upon a boy who had been her childhood playmate, Aunt Mary had finally concluded that this child was her own son. In her present illness, Kitt identified Randy with only the warmth and friendship she'd ever known, and the psychiatrist felt that she might respond better if she were confronted by the person who symbolized this warmth, love and kindness to her.
