Mark Hanna was born in Lisbon, Ohio in 1837, he received his early education in the public schools of Cleveland, and at Western Reserve College. Later he went to work for his father in the wholesale grocery business. Our first meeting with you Hanna, reveals him as a husky lad of eighteen, but he would go on to become a respected merchant, politician and statesman.
