The grotesque bulk of Henry VIII casts a gigantic shadow as he passes away, and the frail figure of his son, Edward VI approaches. Edward was born at Hampton Court on 4th October 1537, and his mother Jane Seymour died twelve days after his birth. Ten years later, his father also died and on January 21st 1547, Edward was crowned the King of England.
