This is the story of Elbert Henry Gary, a lawyer, judge, organiser and executive. He was born in 1846 on his father's farm near Wheaton, Illinois, Gary was a boy who was studious, painstaking, and conscientious. After attending Wheaton College, at the age of eighteen he became a school teacher, and later and founding member of US Steel.
