There had been a murder. It was all pretty much routine to start with - well, for a homicide detective at least. A young woman named Laura Hunt had been gunned down in the doorway of her apartment with a shotgun blast which had obliterated her face. Throughout the story, Detective Mark McPherson investigates the young woman's life and acquaintances until he begins to fall in love with the memory of the beautiful Laura. Starring Gene Tierney, reprising his role from the hit Twentieth Century Fox movie.
