Roy Weston works for a company in London and had an appointment to see a client in Germany. He told his wife he would be away for three days yet six days later he still has not arrived home. She employs the services of Henry Simon's Missing Persons Bureau. Their investigation leads them to Germany where he has not yet checked out of the hotel. Mr Parker from the missing persons bureau books in to the hotel to await Weston's return but he does not turn up on top of that the client he was supposed to be meeting tells that Weston did not make the appointment.
