The Reverend John Crane was new to the church and very well liked especially by his housekeeper, Emily Goodacre. She had so much faith in him that when he went missing with £7000, raised by the parishioners to build a new church hall,  she refused to believe he could be party to a dishonest deed.  Simply concerned about his disappearance she calls the missing persons agency.
