The main theme of the story is to show the price a boss has to pay because he's a leader of men. A lot of folks think that a boss has an easy job - but that isn't so. The leader has more strain mentally than those who work under him. Sometimes he has to make decisions that he knows will make him unpopular, but it's a right decision and for the good of all concerned. That's what happens in the story today...
