After investigating the scene of the murder, Ginger makes a fateful decision. Instead of returning to the base, and passing on his information to Biggles, he will put down in Latonga. Despite Mischu's fears, he will visit the head man with the natives and demand to know the reason for his hostility. But when Mischu and Ginger do meet with him, he admits nothing, being suave and hospitable, inviting them in to drink with him. Too late, Ginger realises their mistake, as his head clouds and everything goes black...
