Implicit faith and trust in Eisenhower as a man of goodness made him impossible to beat. He was the unbeatable. 

On September 24th 1955 while on vacation with his wife in Denver Ike Eisenhower suffered a mild heart attack but made a rapid recovery and returned to Washington in November. Now the question remained as to whether Ike would run for a second term. It was the Suez crisis in the middle east which won Ike his campaign.
