"Under a spreading chestnut tree, the village smithy stands; The smith, a mighty man is he, with large and sinewy hands; And the muscles of his brawny arms, are strong as iron bands." The poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, was inspired by the strength of the village black smith that he immortalized him by writing this poem. There's a black smith in Knotty Pine, called Jacques Macintosh, and every morning you can hear him singing in his shop.
