In times of war and international unrest, there are obviously a great number of disappearances and unaccounted for deaths. In such times, even though Britain may not be directly involved in the conflict in question, a large number of British subjects find themselves caught up in the action. When this happens, it's not unnatural for the missing person's bureau to play a part in attempting to solve a case. At the time of the French troubles with Algeria, there was a caller to the bureau, named Lydia Wentworth, whose fiance had disappeared. After much distress and searching herself, she had finally contacted the bureau for their help...
