Transforming The Daily Commute

Transforming The Daily Commute

Twenty years ago, we'd never have believed that in the future, folks would be walking around with several hundred hours of old time radio shows or music in their pockets, able to listen to whatever they liked - whenever they liked.

It would have sounded like something from X Minus One...

But now it's a reality - and there truly is no better way to start your daily commute than by listening to an uplifting old time radio show.

For most people, the journey to work takes around thirty minutes, so have you ever considered listening to an old time radio show, instead of the current local or national news, which these days, just tends to send you into a spiral of depressing thoughts before you've even reached the end of the driveway...

Imagine arriving at your destination feeling alert, energised and ready to take on the working day!

For instance, a Jack Benny, or a Fibber McGee & Molly show would be just perfect. What a difference it could make to your day, if you arrived at the office, factory or store, jolly and with a beaming smile across your face, simply because you'd been chuckling all the way to work?

If you have a slightly longer commute, there are series such as Lux Radio Theater, arguably the most impressive, dramatic show in radio. With a duration of one hour, they were considered to be one of the most important radio shows of the time, with dramas based on popular movies of the era. It had everything, including the big stars, and an even bigger budget!

Joy and I would love to hear which shows you believe to be the best for the daily commute. I know there are many of us who are retired now - but you can still join in the fun by adding your comments below!

Happy listening my friends,

Ned Norris
