Server Up-Time

Over the past few months I've been using a wonderful service provided by a company called WebSitePulse.com. For a nominal monthly payment they've been monitoring the RUSC server every 15 minutes to make sure it is up and working correctly. The reason I started to use this service was that I didn't want the site to go down and deprive all you good people of your old time radio show fix. Thanks to WebSitePulse if the site goes down now I'm notified immediately and so I can drop everything and get straight onto it and so keep any downtime to an absolute minimum.

A side benefit of using this monitoring service is that I also get access to reports that let me know how often the server went down. I've been monitoring it since December of last year and I thought it was about time I shared the results with you as, to be honest, I'm very proud of them.

As I mentioned above, WebSitePulse has checked the site every 15 minutes. They've done this from three different locations around the globe; Los Angeles (CA), Trumbull (CT) and London (UK). In total the site has been checked over 22,000 times since December and has only failed on 15 occasions. In percentage terms this means that RUSC has been fully operational and working correctly over 99.9% of the time. Put another way if you accessed the site one-thousand-six-hundred-and-sixty-six times you'd only have a problem logging-in on just one occasion.

You can take a look at the statistics as they stand at this very moment in time. The following page is updated every 15 minutes by WebSitePulse.

You'll be able to keep an eye out on these statistics whenever you like by clicking on the Server Statistics link which I've added under Other on the left hand side on the members area.

Ah well, that's enough technology for now. I think it's time for another old radio show ...

Happy listening my friends
