Old Time Radio Shows Featuring The Plays of William Shakespeare
Old Time Radio Shows Featuring The Plays of William Shakespeare
On the 23rd April 1616 William Shakespeare died at the age of 52. Shakespeare is known as one of the greatest writers of the 16th century whose stories have been performed the world over. There are many examples of his works featured in series from the Golden Age of Radio and to commemorate his writings I have put together a list of old time radio presentations featuring the plays of William Shakespeare.
I have also included the Favorite Story episode Mister Shakespeare a story about what might happen if the greatest of all playwrights could come back out of the past to work for a modern motion picture studio.
Another interesting story concerning Shakespeare but not by him is CBS Radio Workshop's episode entitled Interview With Shakespeare. It is a fictional story in which Dr. Frank C. Baxter, a professor of English at the University of Southern California, interviews the distinguished author William Shakespeare as if he were alive in 1956 to ascertain who wrote the works of Shakespeare.
