November at RUSC

Well I hope you enjoyed all that horror in October. I certainly did! There's something about a good old scare that keeps you captivated and the same goes for detective dramas. I receive quite a lot of requests and even if it sometimes takes me a little while I always do my best to bring you the shows you want to make RUSC as enjoyable as possible and November is going to be no exception.

New for November, by request, you can listen to Rogues Gallery starring Dick Powell of Richard Diamond fame as Richard Rogue (guess he liked the name Richard!). The quality of this detective drama is superb. The first episode going live on Sunday 2nd November is comparable to Johnny Dollar, probably due to the nature of the story, leading Rogue to investigate an insurance fraud. The stories would often commence with his lead on the case being murdered and then when Rogue was on to something big he would be rendered unconscious and this is when his alter ego, Eugor (Rogue spelt backwards) would appear in his sub-conscious mind and goad him which would bring him back to the real world. And of course like all good radio detectives he always solves his case in the end!

Also by request in November is Gang Busters, a dramatic crime anthology, that will appear on Thursdays. On Mondays Michael Shayne appears as the reckless red-headed Irishman, a detective melodrama based on the books by Brett Halliday. Also on Mondays you can listen to Nick Carter, Master Detective. The show starts with the words "yes it's another case for that most famous of all man hunters, the detective whose ability at solving crime is unequalled in detective fiction!" Well, you'll just have to listen and decide for yourself who can best lay claim to being the greatest detective. Of course let's not forget all our regular and existing favorites on RUSC, which I will be adding to this month including Broadway is My Beat, The Green Hornet, The Third Man, The Saint and Sherlock Holmes.

And just for fun to test your own detective knowledge later on in the month I will post a quiz on the site to see if you can match the detective to the series, so watch out for that.

Let's also not forget that the month of  November is traditionally the time for thanksgiving. To celebrate this let me draw your attention to The Cavalcade of America, which is a series of episodes from America's history, stories portraying the qualities of the American people from the earliest days to the present time.  The stories of faith and courage you will hear on these programmes represent a heritage too precious to be forgotten. You can listen to or download a new episode each Thursday and to get you up-to date if you haven't already done so there are four episodes, which went live in October.

So that just leaves me to say,

Happy November Listening my friends and for November the 27th - Happy Thanksgiving!
