New version of my little guide

New version of my little guide

A few months back I put up a link to a little e-book I had put together. The ebook was in a pdf format which required Adobe Acrobat to run. Last week I came across a piece of software that allowed me to reproduce the book in a rather clever format that looks very similar to a real book but on your screen. When you click to go to the next page the page turns over just like a normal book would - it's really neat!

I've completely revamped the book to fit into this new format and it is now available for downloading. Here are the contents:

  • Chapter 1 - History of old time radio
  • Chapter 2 - Old radio show genres
  • Chapter 3 - Quick Guide
  • Chapter 4 - A tour of the RUSC
  • Chapter 5 - How to Download
  • Chapter 6 - Listening to shows
  • Chapter 7 - Transferring to CD
  • Chapter 8 - Books on Old Time Radio
  • Chapter 9 - Useful Software
  • Chapter 10 - Frequently Asked Questions

The file is in an executable format (i.e. .EXE) so to download it to your machine and read it just follow these four steps:

1. Right click on the link below and select "Save Target As"

2. Choose a location on your hard drive where you want to put it

3. Once the download has completed go to the folder where you stored it and double click on the file name OTR Guide V2.exe

Here's the link:

www.rusc.com/software/OTR_Guide_V2.exe (1.5 meg)

This new format will only work on PCs so if you have a Mac you would need to download the pdf version. Here's the link:

I'm hopeless at proof reading my own writing so if you spot any errors in the book please do let me know and I will get them corrected.

Happy reading
