Joke for April Fools day - The Petrified Forest

April Fools Day Joke

A sight-seeing bus traveling from San Francisco to Muir Woods National Monument wound around many hairpin curves. After successfully negotiating a particularly sharp curve, the bus driver pulled over to the side of the road.

"Well, this is a new twist," he said, surveying his wide-eyed passengers. "I'm taking a load of petrified tourists to see a living forest."

You can listen to the Lux Radio Theater episode of The Petrified Foreston RUSC today. As well as being a great story after about 30 minutes in the interval you will find out about the history and origins of the Petrified Forest, the 90,000 acres in North East Arizona from which the story borrowed its name from Charles Smith who was the first superintendant of this national monument. I can tell you, it is facinating. It's on my list of places to visit!

Happy listening my friends,

Ned Norris
