Al Brider is the treasurer of an association, the members of which, are the owners of the stores in the local neighbourhood. One of the members approaches Captain Kennelly to raise their concerns about the treasury funds being $200 short this month because Al borrowed it to keep his luncheonette business afloat. The other members of the association are not happy. The next call comes in that a payroll holdup has just happened over on the 9th precinct, and the thieves have gotten away with over $26,000 in cash. The following day - Al pays back everything he owes... A coincidence, or is the ex-con, Al Brider, involved in the robbery?
