Happy Valentines Day
Today all hearts that hope to romance are celebrating St. Valentine’s Day and that includes Chester A. Riley’s big roomy heart.
However he and Peg have had an argument and to get even Chester, egged on by his neighbor Gillis who is also in the doghouse with his wife, sends her a nasty valentine. Regretting what he has done and then discovering Peg has sent him a romantic card he waits anxiously trying to intercept the postman. Luckily for Chester his forgiving wife Peg knows him better than he does and she lets him off his own hook by suggesting that the card is from shopkkeeper Mr Pringle who was the reason for their argument in the first place.
Although the 14th February is Valentines Day it is also Jack Benny's 40th birthday and he is making sure that all his friends remember this by subtly placing messages where they are sure to see them. As well as his birthday wishes Jack receives a letter from his sister telling him that he is not 40 but 39. Unable to prove otherwise Jack has to believe his sister, of course!
