Happy Thanksgiving

Poor old Turkey, it seems that everyone has it in for the turkey and Jimmy Durante is no different, he's been fattening up a turkey for thanksgiving in his back yard but little does he know that Arthur Treacher has been selling raffle tickets on it!

Meanwhile The Aldrich Family are having turkey troubles of their own. Uncle John has given them a live turkey for Thanksgiving but Alice has already bought a turkey. Alice suggests that they give the turkey to Mrs Vixen and her family not knowing that Henry has already promised it for the school turkey run and taken $5 payment for it. Unable to find another Turkey for $5 Henry buys a duck, which flies the coup and causes mayhem in the school!

In the Burns household George and Gracie are discussing cutting their budget down to help the economy during the war so Gracie thinks it will be a good idea to buy a cheap thin live turkey and fatten it up for Thanksgiving dinner. However, looking after the live thin turkey ends up costing more than buying a prepared fat turkey and then Gracie decides it would be inhuman to eat him after he becomes friends with their duck, Herman!

Looking at our survey nearly half of you said you would like to spend Thanksgiving with Jack Benny and the gang and Alice Faye is no different as she turns up for Thanksgiving. The turkey's safe there though as Rochester is preparing duck for a change. After dinner Alice sang a song and they all played games and had a swell time.

Well, Joy has told me that we won't be changing the long held tradition of turkey for Thanksgiving, we're having turkey for dinner and he'll be sitting right between us!
