Happy Father's Day!

I hope that you have been enjoying the recent additions to RUSC in the form of the very clever Quiz Kids. I don't know where they get all that knowledge from and so young. They certainly would put me to shame. Well for Father's day today I have dug out a special episode from Father's Day 20th June 1948.

On this father’s day the four young members of the class are about to battle it out with dads! These are the same youngsters who faced their mothers in class a month ago on mother’s day. On that occasion the mother’s won. Now we are going to find out once and for all which really are the smartest, quiz kids, their mothers or their fathers.

The roll call consists of 12-year-old Joel Kupperman and his dad Paul a structural engineer, 10-year-old Mike Mullen and his Father Joe who is a teacher, 11-year-old Patrick Conlon and his Lawyer father also named Patrick and 10-year-old Naomi Cooks and her father Julius.

I don't want to spoil the outcome for you but let's just say I took a little ribbing from Joy! Have a listen and see if you can beat the Quiz kids.

I have also added another treat for you with an episode of your very favorite detective, Sherlock Holmes. I have had a few requests for Sherlock lately and have some episodes that I will add over the coming week.

If you are you are still young enough to have your father and are wondering what to do for him to make him feel special today then why not sit back and enjoy some shows from the golden age of radio together. You could even download some shows from RUSC on to a CD and pop it in with his card. What a thoughtful son you are!
