Father's Day

Did you know that the United States is one of just a handful of countries in the world that has an official day especially for children to honor their fathers?

This special day is on the third Sunday in June, which just so happens to be this weekend, so this week on RUSC, you'll find a terrific collection of Father's Day shows. Click on the link below to select which you'd like to add to your Playlist:-

Father's Day Collection

I wanted to mention one show in particular, from Lux Radio Theater. It's called Sorrell & Son, and is a show dedicated to Father's everywhere. 

The story begins when Captain Stephen Sorrell returns home from the war, to find his wife in love with another man. She leaves him, and despite considerable hardship, the Captain devotes his life to bringing up their young son, Kit, alone.

It's a very moving drama of a man and his boy, from the novel by Warwick Deeping.

Now, if you are still young enough to have your father, now is the official time to give him a gift, take him to dinner or do something else to make him feel special. Of course, you can do such things at any time, but on Father's Day it's an absolute must. 

You could even purchase a gift subscription to RUSC by clicking here, to give three months, or even a whole years worth of good clean entertainment to your lovely Dad, or perhaps you could download some shows from RUSC on to a CD and pop that in with his card.

For all of the men who have brought up children or who have acted as a Father figure to someone in their lives be it step-father, favorite uncle, big brother or grandfather, I offer you my warmest regards. Hopefully I have covered every good man out there!
