George Valentine is hired by a man who never got along well with his wife but who wants Valentine to find her. She could have left his house afoot or by bus or by train but she didn’t. Valentine tries looking for Mrs. Groves in the place he decides she most probably is, the rose garden, only he’s wrong. Mr. Groves said his wife might disappear to embarrass him.
