April Fools Day - Frankenstein Hoax Added To RUSC
On Thursday it will be the April Fools Day and if you are planning on a little tom foolery then you can listen to the following shows to get some ideas!
On the day I am going to add a spooky hoax, which has become a classic from the golden age of radio. You shouldn't laugh, as I am sure that you would fall for the gag put in the same situation as Armed Forces Network announcer Carl Nelson. To make it all the more scary it was Halloween night in 1952 and Carl was sent on an assignment to Frankenstein's castle. Unbeknown to him the production crew planted a real person disguised as a moving statue and added some scary noises. Poor old Nelson tries to escape in a panic only to find the door is locked and he faints.
I have to admit, I was pretty scared with him. I wonder if he saw the funny side later!
