A Hatchet murder had been committed on Miss Emily French and Leonard Vole a young man of 33 was arrested as a suspect. Miss French had been a very wealthy old lady and had befriended Vole because of his kindness one day on Main Street when he had helped her cross the road and carry some packages home for her. He was now surprised to find himself accused of her murder. But was Vole being completely truthful with his lawyer?
