Jane Froman is an aspiring songstress in 1940s America. Through her relationship with Don Ross, she manages to land a job at a radio station in Cincinnati, where her career blooms and she becomes a household name. However, with the declaration of World War II, Jane leaves on a European tour, but a plane crash in Portugal leaves her horribly injured. No longer able to walk, Jane refuses to give up, and her heart and courage take her back to the stage to entertain the troops.
