Wild Palms, The

Broadcast: 4th December 1949
Added: Dec 11 2007

From the NBC Theater in Hollywood and hour length dramatization of William Faulkner’s tragic novel The Wild Palms is one of the few of the few Faulkner novels which departs the time and place of the main body of his work. But it is very good Faulkner in deed containing some of his most brilliant and terrifying passages.

It is a story of two lovers doomed as inevitably and almost as poetically as Romeo and Juliet.

At intermission you can hear a recorded commentary by fellow novelist Robert Penn Warren on the works of William Faulkner.

Adapted for radio by Richard E. Davis.
