At least Sergeant Preston and King knew what they were facing when they started down the thirty-mile river, after Link Tanner and Baldy Maklin, a narrow green channel between the bands of water that boiled white over the shoals and great black rocks that rose above the deep water. But they didn’t realize that they’d have to dive in to the maelstrom trying to save the lives of two innocent people.
