Dr Tom Granite resigned from the force a few weeks ago, and now the inspector has received word that he's committed a murder. Sergeant Preston has been assigned the unenviable job of bringing him in to be tried for murder. As he begins the manhunt for his friend, he faces on of the most difficult assignments of his career - especially since he believes him to be innocent.
