Ben was one of the best young medical men in town who was due to be married tomorrow to Margaret Vander Beer of Beverley Hills. He was now missing but had been in fine spirits right up until that afternoon in the florists where he was with his best man Tom Casey collecting a white carnation. All the way home he had been afraid of being followed and then later that night he phoned Casey and told him about a man named Gregory Toledo who he thought was dead but now seemed to have come back to life. Ben said he could not rest until Toledo was dead again.
