After watching a show at the carnival, the guys receive a hot tip for an ad in the personal column of the newspaper. It reads "If you will publish a classified ad in the daily press, stating the amount of money stolen from the branch office of the Western Union on 2nd Street, I will reveal the identity of the persons committing the fraud." Nobody has heard anything about a robbery though - so they don't understand the ad. Could it be a double-cross?
