When the cry of gold went up in the West, men came from all over the world to dig for the yellow metal. Some chose to tunnel into the earth where gold veins lay deep, others took the easier gamble of platter mining.
The platters washed the creek bed gravel for free nuggets and gold dust; but wherever the men found gold they also found violence and some of them sent for United States Marshall Wild Bill Hickok and Jingles.
