Pete Kelly had a problem a woman named Veda Brandt was in love with him. Backaliti was in love with Veda and wanted nothing but to make her happy so he ordered Kelly to marry her at two o’clock tomorrow though the last man that she loved had never been seen again. Kelly was in a no win situation, if he married Veda he’d be a dead bridegroom if he didn’t marry her he’d be a dead bachelor. He decided to be a live fugitive.
